Foil is laid on a thin fired coat of enamel and covered with a transparent. The metal underneath throws light back through the color, and that is how the jewel-like depth a transparent cannot reach over plain copper is obtained. Our foil is supplied in 4" x 4" sheets, sold by the sheet or in books — 25 sheets for fine silver and copper, 5 for 24K gold.
