Opalescent Enamel for Enameling

Opalescents cloud as they fire: crystals grow in the glass and scatter the light, so the fired surface sits between a transparent and an opaque and shifts with the angle you look from. This section gathers the opals from every line we carry, which is the easiest way to compare them — Thompson's 835 to 859 series, Milton Bridge 1 to 11, Schauer 64, 75, 77, 78 and 6969, Nihon RF-1 White and Blythe T-8 Blossom. Most are medium fusing at 1450 to 1550F and sold by the ounce, with larger sizes on some. The Japanese opalescents have their own section in Ninomiya Opalescent.

WARNING: These products can expose you to chemicals including lead, cadmiumcobalt, lithium carbonate, silica, crystalline (airborne particles of respirable size), titanium dioxide, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm (www.P65warnings.ca.gov).
