Hirosawa Transparent Enamels from Japan

Hirosawa transparents in the HS numbering: clear silver flux HS-1 and the pre-washed HS-1S, aquas in three graded steps from pale to full, yellow greens in another three, lime green, and light and full red violet. Sold in 1, 4, 8 and 16 ounce sizes. A flux underneath is recommended. The graded steps are what make traditional cloisonne shading possible — a single hue laid in stages rather than mixed. Hirosawa's painting colors are in Hirosawa Painting Enamels.
